Experienced, Jim has been fishing the river since 1973. His skill on the oars and fish finding ability are what set him apart from every guide on the river. Living in Fort Smith for most of the year, he spends all of his time on the river. Jim is the owner of Otter Creek Outfitters, he also guides hunting adventures. Jim’s lifetime of knowledge is waiting to be shared with you.

Jamie Anderson

With 12 years of experience, Jamie has guided all over America. From the tropics of the Florida Keys, to Alaska, to the Bighorn; Jamie has seen some fish in his day. He calls Fort Smith home, and the fish fear him. He is very sought after as a guide, so book him ahead of time.

Lacy Wilkins

Cottonwood has been in Lacy’s family for a long time, she’s the 3rd generation to come through and be a part of camp. Whoever said girls can’t fish surly has never met Lacy. Skilled on the oars, she has a knack for finding the big fish. Lacy also guides hunting adventures alongside her father. Her knowledge of the Bighorn and her patience keep her clients happy and into fish.

Brady Hefner

From Billings Montana, Brady has been all over Montana fishing it’s famous rivers. Brady’s passion includes growing his mustache, and throwing meat for hungry trout. If you’re a streamer junkie, Brady is your man. His sense of humor and fishy knowledge is appreciated by his clients.

Phil Morin

Originally from Southern Maine, Phil made his first fly fishing journey to Montana in 2004.  Having grown up chasing fish all over Maine and New Hampshire, Phil caught the bug of fishing the great rivers in the West. In 2014 he and his wife Amy purchased Cottonwood Camp so they could call this home. Phil has a strong desire to help his clients enjoy their day on the river soaking up all that nature offers while also netting their fish.

Ian Peppel

From the land of 10,000 lakes, Ian is no stranger to wetting a line. With a degree in teaching, he excels in sharing his fishy knowledge with clients. While trout are his main target, he loves swinging for steelhead. Around camp, Ian is our Whitefish Specialist. Whether streamers, nymphs, or dries, Ian just enjoys putting a bend in the rod.

Tyler Thompson

Born and raised in Montana, Tyler considers the Bighorn his home water. Tyler’s desire to make his client’s day successful is brought to the boat every day. Anglers love Tyler’s enthusiasm for both catching fish and teaching them all aspects of fly fishing. When he’s not on the water, he’s tying bugs getting ready for his next outing.
